They Eat Culture: Preston 30th October

Chaotic and bonkers-beautiful, I haven’t had as much fun in ages. My job was to perform This Land, but what the event actually was, I can’t tell you. I think it was a Halloween Night multi-venue arts happening aimed at families. At times, it seemed like a fancy-dress kids party where people turned up in Halloween costumes to be amused/bemused by the heirs to Marcel Duchamps’ legacy.

Don’t know what it was, but I loved it. There was a sweet scent in the air of burning ACE money. There was also a woman broadcasting live on BBC Radio Lancashire who seemed to have found new purpose in life trying to discover my real name, all of which added to the entertainment.
